How can I make per-object light sources with Pov-Ray (or MegaPov)?
What I need is a light source that works as a point light for some
objects and as an area light for others. I made a wall of hf-bricks which
takes too long to render with area lights (for the real bumpiness of the
bricks), but for the rest of the scene area light is needed. Since I want
the bricks to cast shadows, no_shadow doesn't fit my needs. I know per-object
lighting is simple in other programs (Lightflow for example), so I'm wandering
if there's a (tricky) way to obtain this.
